This autumn, step into the quiet beauty of Mallorca’s countryside with a one-time-only natural dyeing experience at The Lodge. Beneath a wooden-beamed pergola, surrounded by ancient olive trees and golden fields, textile artist Alena Dentler invites you to slow down and explore the gentle craft of bundle dyeing. Using vibrant plants, fragrant flowers, and rich natural pigments, you’ll create luminous silk pieces infused with the island’s wild character.

The session begins with a slow walk through the grounds of The Lodge – a restored 500-year-old estate surrounded by rosemary, almond trees, and Mallorca’s largest lavender field. Along the way, Alena will guide you in gathering local botanicals, sharing how to identify the plants that leave the most striking colours and organic shapes.

At the workshop table, you’ll choose between a silk bandana or sarong to layer petals, leaves, and herbs onto, building a design that’s entirely your own. Once satisfied with your arrangement, Alena will guide you in rolling and tying your bundle, sealing in nature’s imprint before steaming or soaking it in natural dye. Then comes the moment of reveal: as you unwrap your creation, vibrant pigments and soft shadows emerge – echoes of Mallorca’s landscape, captured in every fold.

Throughout the experience, enjoy herbal infusions, local fruits, and treats as you take in the view and settle into the rhythm of the process. To celebrate your finished piece, raise a glass of wine from The Lodge’s private cellar – a quiet toast to nature, creativity, and the art of slowing down.

By the end of the day, you’ll take home a silk piece touched by the island’s palette – a quiet memory of golden fields, whispering trees, and the scent of wild herbs on the breeze.
