The Kind of Studio You Want to Linger In
Maria Roca is a designer and ceramicist from Barcelona, now based in Mallorca, where she runs Mia Nua — her own ceramic brand and studio. Trained as an interior designer, she has been producing and teaching ceramics since 2020, and both disciplines are visible in everything she does: the pieces, the techniques, and the space she works in.
The studio reflects her eye. Concrete floors, high ceilings, considered proportions — a genuine working space that feels calm and purposeful, and that she opens up for workshops.
Her work is shaped by a deep interest in feminine and organic forms, the geometry of Art Deco, and what she calls “imperfect beauty — the subtle elegance of humble simplicity.” She works across wheel throwing and hand-building, and her pieces carry that balance: precise in intention, alive in execution.
Teaching is a central part of her practice. She loves welcoming students into the studio, hearing their ideas, and guiding them through the process with patience and care — because for Maria, working with clay is also about learning to trust the process and find calm in making something with your hands.
