This workshop is for anyone who has ever wanted to create their own jewellery. Set in a spacious, bright studio in the heart of Palma, a shared space used by painters, graphic designers, and makers, you’ll be surrounded by a calm, minimalist atmosphere that invites focus and creativity.

Your jewellery guide, Lucy Ehrlich, holds a space to release your creative mind, using wax as the medium to carve, drip, and assemble a self-designed ring using the lost wax casting technique. To begin, she will show you how to measure your ring size to ensure a comfortable fit. Then it is time to learn the technique, using a specialized heated tool and varied carving spatulas to guide the wax into the design of your choice. You’ll have plenty of time to try out your ideas, and Lucy will be there to lend her knowledge and a helping hand whenever needed.

You’ll be working with two types of wax, each offering a unique way to shape your design. The softer red wax responds to the warmth of your hands, ideal for pressing, rolling, and carving fine details. The firmer blue wax is applied with a heated pencil, letting you drip, layer, and build forms slowly. As you explore both, you’ll watch your ring take shape, gaining volume and movement with each touch.

Once your wax ring model is complete, Lucy will take it to a local foundry, where a professional caster will turn it into a ring made of 925 sterling silver. If you’d like to add a little sparkle, you’ll be able to choose from a curated collection of gemstones which can be set by a professional stone setter for an additional cost. Your finished ring will be ready to pick up or ship out 5 to 7 weeks after the workshop, shining brightly and ready to wear.
